Improving cycling experience and safety at North Arroyo hills and neighborhood

North Arroyo is the neighborhood where ArtCenter campus is located. The neighborhood is located on a hill, continuing down to the Rose Bowl Stadium.
The lower, slower traffic flow, wide streets and moderately steep hill makes the neighborhood a desirable cycling route for many. Although cyclists enjoy to climb and ride down the hill enjoying the elevation and the scenery, the heavily curvy roads often conceal cyclists from driver's vision.
I wanted to improve the safety of the hillside cycling experience through illumination based safety features integrated into the lanes and signs.
This improvement will not only serve the cyclist population of Pasadena, but also provide ArtCenter students more freedom in terms of viable commute mode options.
